To date Siren Sisters’ shows have raised almost £12,500 for Water Aid and various local causes. It quickly became apparent that hosting a Siren Sisters event was an easy way for local groups to raise funds and at the same time provide an enjoyable evening’s entertainment.

The group has found from experience that there are certain presentational touches which lend a distinctive mood to events and enhance the feeling for guests of “an evening out”. Such aspects can be varied to suit local tastes, but generally include guests seated at tables; tablecloths, tea lights and nibbles on the tables; and waiter service from the bar.

Hosting an event means a local group taking on the main organising tasks such as promoting and publicising the event;

selling tickets; booking the venue; running the bar; and finding volunteers to help on the day.

In addition to all musical aspects, the Siren Sisters take on responsibility for producing and printing tickets, posters and programmes; and organising staging and lighting.
